Privacy Policy
The short version: your contacts belong to you. We collect what's needed to run Mingo, we don't sell your personal data, AI features only run with your consent, and you can export or delete your data at any time.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for the Mingo app and mingo.cards is Mobilio Asia — www.mobilio.asia. Privacy contact: privacy@mingo.cards (or support@mingo.cards).
2. What we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Name, email or phone number, sign-in provider (Google / Apple / phone verification), language preference | You |
| Card content | The details you put on your cards: name, title, company, photo, logo, links, contact fields (in one or two languages) | You |
| Captured contacts | Details of people you save: shared-back contact info, scanned paper cards, notes, tags, reminders, meeting context you record | You / people who share with you |
| Card-view data | When your card is viewed or saved: counts, approximate location (city level), device type — shown to you as analytics | Card viewers |
| Usage & device data | App interactions, crash logs, device model, OS version, identifiers needed for push notifications | Automatic |
| Purchase status | Subscription tier and store transaction confirmation from Apple App Store / Google Play. We never receive your card or bank details. | App stores |
3. What we use it for
- Providing the Service — hosting your cards, serving your card page to people who scan or receive it, syncing across your devices, sending the reminders you set.
- AI features (with your consent) — reading paper cards you photograph (multilingual OCR), enriching contacts with publicly available details, and generating AI notes. Where a feature processes audio, recordings are processed to produce the note and then deleted; we do not keep the audio.
- Analytics you see — showing you views, saves, and exchange statistics for your own cards.
- Improving and securing Mingo — aggregate usage analysis, debugging, fraud and abuse prevention.
- Communications — service messages (always) and product updates (only with your consent; opt out anytime).
Legal bases where required (e.g., GDPR): performance of contract (running the Service), consent (AI features, marketing), and legitimate interests (security, service improvement).
4. Sharing — and who sees your card
- People you share with. Your card page is visible to anyone who has its link or scans your QR/NFC — that is the point of the product. Share it only as widely as you want.
- Processors. We use service providers for cloud hosting, content delivery, crash reporting, and AI processing, bound by data-processing agreements and acting on our instructions.
- App stores. Apple / Google process your subscription payments under their own privacy policies.
- No selling. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your captured contacts to advertise to those people.
- Legal. We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.
5. Your contacts are your responsibility too
When you capture other people's details (for example scanning a paper card), you act as the holder of that address book. Use captured contacts in line with the laws that apply to you, and honor requests from individuals who ask you to delete their details.
6. International transfers
Mingo serves users across Asia and beyond; data may be processed in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
7. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your cards, captured contacts, and notes are deleted from production systems within 30 days (backup copies expire on a rolling schedule shortly after). Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be retained.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, we honor the core rights of data-protection law — including the GDPR and regional laws across Asia (such as Singapore's and Thailand's PDPA and Vietnam's PDPD): access, correction, export (take your contacts with you), deletion, restriction or objection, and withdrawal of consent for AI features at any time in the app (Profile → Privacy). To exercise a right, use the in-app controls or email privacy@mingo.cards. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; access is restricted on a least-privilege basis; we log and review administrative access. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach affects you, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.
10. Children
Mingo is a professional networking tool and is not directed at children. Do not use the Service if you are under 16 (or your country's digital-consent age). We delete accounts we learn belong to children.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy as the Service evolves (for example when the Mingo NFC card or Team plans launch). Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
